Privacy policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
This policy explains how NameStar (“Celegram”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit celegram.com, create, sign or receive a group greeting card, or buy from the Celegram shop.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account: your email address and name when you sign in with an email link.
- Cards you organize: the recipient’s name and either their NameStar @name or email address and time zone, the card design, the email addresses of people you invite, and when the card should be delivered.
- Messages you sign: your name, optional email address (never shown on the card), your message and any photo, video or voice note you add, and the language you wrote in.
- Your @name profile settings, such as who may send you cards and, if you choose to share it, your birthday (day and month only).
- Order details: your name, email address, shipping address and phone number.
- Messages you send us, for example when you email support@namestar.com.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on our servers. We receive the payment status, the last four digits of your card and your billing details where provided.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
- Your shopping cart, and the link that lets you edit a message you signed, are stored in your own browser (local storage).
- Anonymous usage counts (for example “a card was created”) without cookies, names, emails or identifiers.
How we use your information
- To create cards, collect messages, send invitations and reminders you ask for, and deliver the card to its recipient at the chosen time.
- To show the recipient a translation of messages in their language; the original is always kept and shown on request.
- To send you sign-in links.
- To take payment for, make, ship and support your order.
- To send order confirmations, shipping updates and replies to your questions.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
- To meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who we share it with
- Stripe, to process payments.
- Our print and fulfillment partners (Printful, Printify and/or Prodigi), who receive your name, shipping address and the items ordered so they can print and ship them.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and stores our data.
- Our email delivery provider, which sends our emails over SMTP on our behalf. We name our current providers on request.
- NameStar’s directory, to deliver a card to an @name (the sender never sees the recipient’s contact details).
- People on the same card: the recipient and the organizer see the messages and media on that card with the signer’s name. Email addresses are never shown on a card.
- Shipping carriers, through our fulfillment partners, to deliver your package.
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect our rights and our customers.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the site, such as keeping you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfill and support your order and to meet legal requirements, generally up to seven years for tax and accounting records. Cards are kept so the recipient can come back to them, until the organizer or recipient deletes them or asks us to. Signers can edit or delete their own message until the card is delivered. The content of sent emails is deleted after delivery; we keep a record that an email was sent. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, subject to records we must keep by law. California residents have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, to delete, to correct and to not be discriminated against for using them. Email support@namestar.com and we will respond within the time required by law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
If you have an account, you can do this yourself: under Account, download a copy of your data or delete your account. Business customers can review our Data Processing Addendum.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and reputable service providers to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
Celegram is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
